Aphorism 36
Going for the illustration initially, Dr Hahnemann takes up first clause that what happens in nature when two dissimilar diseases meet together in a human being, if both are of equal strength or the older one is stronger than the new one.
The new disease being weaker will be repelled by the older one being more stronger; thereby the person will not be effected by the new disease, which can be proved-
1. Persons suffering from severe chronic diseases are not affected by moderate autumnal dysentery or other epidemic diseases of weaker intensity as compared to the already existing stronger disease.
2. Larry observed that plague of Levant does not break out where scurvy was prevalent.
3. People suffering from eczema were not affected by plague of Levant.
4. As per Jenner, rachites (rickets) prevents vaccination from taking effect.
5. According to Von Hildenbrand, persons suffering from pulmonary consumption remain unaffected by epidemic fevers if not of very violent character.
