Explanation of Aphorism 83
General directions for individualization of case.
Saying about individualization, Dr. Hahnemann gives general directions for individualizing a case but he says that every case is unique and requires different parameters which cannot be categorized to encompass each case as a rule. Rather, what physician needs to be present in him to handle every case before him is -
1. Freedom from prejudice, else he will be baised and his observation will be fallacious. 2. Sound senses, to perceive slight change in state of health.
3. Attention in observing, not to miss any point.
4. Fidelity in tracing picture of disease, to be exactly at the point.
▲ Each case is unique and every case cannot be taken up using same protocol. In spite of this many physicians are seen perplexed if they are unable to bring out reaction to heat or cold, thirst or mental symptoms of the patient clearly - as if these are the only things which are needed to make prescribing totality.
