Explanation of Aphorism 82
Individualization is necessary for cure of acute as well as chronic diseases. 


Discovery of chronic diseases along with their specific homoeopathic remedies have advanced much in attaining cure; yet individualization is must. Only difference occurs in acute cases when it develops so rapidly that the chief symptoms becomes self-evident to senses more quickly resulting in to trace the picture of disease within no time; contrary to chronic diseases which gradually progresses for several years, resulting in symptoms to become more difficult to be ascertained. 

In footnote Dr. Hahnemann says that directions regarding self-evidentity of symptoms are only applicable in acute diseases.
