Simplified explanation of Aphorism 61
Antipathy and homoeopathy are at two poles.
Having explained every bits and cons of antipathy, Dr. Hahnemann says "TRUE RADICAL HEALING ART MUST BE FOUND IN THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF SUCH AN ANTIPATHIC TREATMENT OF THE SYMPTOMS OF DISEASE". He gives differences between antipathy and homoeopathy-
1. In antipathy medicine having antipathic relation to chief symptom is employed to counteract effect of disease, whereas in homoeopathy medicine having capability to produce similar state to that of the case in hand, in healthy body is administered.
2. Antipathically employed medicine produces invariable aggravation after transient relief, whereas in a homoeopathic mode of employing medicine as per symptom similarity permanent cure is affected.
3. Antipathy uses large doses of medicine, whereas homoeopathy uses minute doses.
Lastly, Dr. Hahnemann concludes this section by mentioning that in antipathy too permanent cure could take place only if chief ingredient of the prescription is homoeopathic to the case in hand.
