How Homoeopathic cure takes place?

The phenomena of Homoeopathic cure is a very interesting and intriguing fact. Although, Hahnemann has asked us not to attach much importance as to how the Homoeopathic cure takes place, he puts forward the most probable explanation.

First of all, we select a Homoeopathic remedy for the prevailing condition of the patient. This Homoeopathic remedy, we select accord- ing in the law of similars. After the administration of the similimum. we see that a similar artificial disease has been produced in the indivi- dn: by the drug. The new similar artificial' disease thus produced by th help of the drug is always to be matched in strength with that of the natural disease. This we can only know after judging the individual's susceptibility. The new similar artificial disease thus produced, will be similar to the natural disease and by the administration of a stronger dose (stronger to that of the natural disease) and from our knowledge of the therapeutic law of cure, we know that, "a stronger dynamic affection extinguishes, a weaker dynamic affection, if both are similar in manifestation, but different in kind".

Thus the natural disease will be removed permanently by the arti- fitz Hiscase, which will take the place of the natural disease. Now the Vital Force which has been strongly aroused will react. This is clear from one of our laws of Homoeopathy, that "Action and reaction are equal and opposite". After some time we will see the effect of the drug wearoff, and thereby release the Vital Force of the diseased condition. The duration of the artificial disease is very short, due to the minuteness of the Homoeopathic dose. After the administration of the drug, the Vital Force directs and increases the amount of energy to get rid of the stronger artificial disease. In this way the Vital Force frees itself from the natural disease by the primary action of the administered medicine and the artificial disease is remov ed by the secondary curative action of the Vital Force. The artificial disease i.e. the medicinal disease will go away by itself, 'because the duration of the action of medicine is very short due to the minuteness of the dose used in Homoeopathy. Thereby, completing the process of an Homoeopathic cure.

Aphorism 89

Explained of Aphorism 89 Need of asking special questions.  When the patient has finished on his own accord his story of suffering and has answered to the questions of physician, but physician thinks that he had not made complete picture of disease then he is at liberty to ask some special questions.  Physician has to rely on patient for description of his sensation of suffering unless it is a case of malingering. Even feigned diseases can be diagnosed by close observation.  In footnote Dr. Hahnemann gives example of special questions, avoiding its frame to be suggestive in itself, like -  •How often are his bowels moved? What is the exact character of the stool? Did the whitish evacuation consist of mucus or faeces? Had he or had he not pains during the evacuation?
