STD stands for Sexually Transmitted Disease, which refers to a group of infections that are primarily transmitted through sexual contact, including vaginal, anal, and oral sex. STDs can be caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungi, and they affect both men and women of all ages. Types of STDs: 1.Chlamydia: Caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis, it is one of the most common STDs worldwide. It often presents with no symptoms but can lead to serious complications if left untreated, such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) in women and infertility in both men and women.
